Chris Derbes, M.D. joined the center in 2000. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas Austin and received a B.A. in Zoology with high honors. He attended the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston from 1989 to 1993, where he graduated with high honors and was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society. He then served his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Dr. Derbes stayed in the Texas Medical Center to complete his fellowship at the University of Texas- Houston /M.D. Anderson Cancer Center Gastroenterology Fellowship Program. He is licensed to practice medicine in the state of Texas, and is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. Dr. Derbes is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterology Association and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America. He specializes in all aspects of digestive diseases as well as diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.
Dr. Derbes lives in College Station with his wife and three children.
